Infrastructure has the potential to function socially, aesthetically, and ecologically. New collaborative typologies of infrastructure and landscape should address the urban conditions of public transit, pedestrian movement, water management, economic development, and recreation.Taking cues from the successful Schuylkill River Trail Loop, the RAIL proposal introduces a second loop which runs through and around Fairmount Park, connecting high vacancy regions with prosperous regions. The loop is a linking armature for a network of hybrid green spaces.
