AEC Technology Symposium + Hackathon

Professional Work, Thornton Tomasetti

CORE studio hosted its second annual Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) Technology Symposium this May at The Cooper Union in New York City. Symposium keynote speakers Shane Burger of Woods Bagot and Deepak Aatresh of Aditazz were joined by representatives from CASE, Enclos, NBBJ, and many more to discuss the topics of computational design and big data.

The symposium was followed by a weekend-long hackathon aimed to generate new ideas and processes for the AEC community through data-driven design and web-based applications. Representatives from CORE studio, Autodesk, and NREL, to name a few, were present as hackathon leaders to offer guidance and support for hackers throughout the competition.

As a member of CORE studio, my responsibilities included: event planning, speaker/leader/sponsor coordination, team management, marketing material production/distribution, and budget/contract organization.
